How far in advance should I book?

Three to six weeks gives us time to plan properly. On a tighter timeline, reach out anyway. We regularly accommodate proposals booked within a week or two, and in some cases within days. The sooner you contact us, the more options we have.

Will my partner notice you?

No. We arrive 20 to 30 minutes early and position ourselves using long-range telephoto lenses, staying far enough back to blend in like any other person in the area. A simple pre-arranged text signal tells us exactly when you are approaching so we are ready before you arrive.

Do you help plan the proposal?

Yes. Every booking includes a planning conversation covering location, timing, positioning, and how to keep the camera invisible. We handle the logistics so you can focus on the moment. Most clients say the planning call is where the confidence kicks in.

What if the weather is bad?

We identify a backup before proposal day, always. That means a pre-identified indoor alternative, a covered location nearby, or a clear reschedule window. You will never be making that call the morning of. Chicago weather is part of the story, and we plan for every version of it.

What happens right after the yes?

We give you five to ten minutes completely uninterrupted. Once the initial wave settles, we step in quietly, introduce ourselves, and move into portraits while the emotion is still real. That second hour is often where the best images come from. The adrenaline produces something you cannot recreate in a studio.

How soon will we get our photos?

Highlights arrive within 48 hours so you can share the news. Your full hand-edited gallery is delivered within 5 to 6 days. Every image is edited individually, never batch-processed, never run through AI. That is not a delay. That is the work being done correctly.

Do we need a permit for our location?

Some Chicago locations require a Chicago Park District permit, particularly for tripods, lighting equipment, or larger groups. We advise on requirements during planning and can help you find a no-permit alternative if your timeline is tight.

Do you photograph engagements and weddings too?
